Our Playgroup at EBC provides a welcoming and engaging space for pre-schoolers and their care providers to connect with other people in similar life stages.
We meet 10am on Thursdays during the school term usually in the Sprouts Room where we take part in free play, songs, games, colouring, craft and eating.
Soccer is a universal game that crosses languages and cultures and is played across the world.
The indoor soccer program has been running at EBC for over 10 years. We try and create a safe place where people can come, participate on teams, have some fun and develop new friendships. It has been great over the years to see people from culturally diverse backgrounds come and play. We play short games where kids will play together, then parents play together. Every month we also have a pizza night.
Mondays & Wednesdays: 5:30-8:00pm
The word “judo” consists of two Japanese characters, ju, which means “gentle”, and do, which means “the way”. Judo seeks to build success, confidence and strength within an individual.
Judo was created in 1882 by Kanō Jigorō. It is a system of unarmed combat, now a Japanese martial art and Olympic and Common-wealth Games sport.

Like other Men’s Sheds, the aim of Grumpies is to build supportive relationships through men working together.
Each week about 30 men gather for about three hours and undertake small projects. While working alongside each other and over morning tea, the men talk about the joys and struggles of their lives, providing mutual support.
3rd Wednesday each month:
Regular monthly gatherings are designed to be informative and entertaining, and an occasion to form new friendships.
While the fellowship is primarily for EBC seniors it is the perfect opportunity to invite your friends and neighbours of any age.
What to expect at a gathering: Welcome, singing together, a prayer, a guest speaker (varied topics consistent with Christian ethics) and afternoon tea.
Venture of Love
Formed in 2001 by a group of dedicated volunteers who were keen to help those in need, mostly children, by sewing and knitting clothes for distribution both locally and overseas.
Each Thursday during school terms VOL meets in Room 403 where our cut, sew and pack a variety of garments, including shorts, t-shirts, long pants, track suits, and pajamas. Our group also makes blankets and quilts, along with knitted rugs, jumpers, beanies and scarves.
Freedom 2 Thrive

(Restorative Garden) is a therapeutic garden where individuals who are disadvantaged, new migrants and culturally or linguistically diverse, can engage in therapeutic gardening activities, growing flowers and vegetables while building friendships.
Currently we are a small group but envision as the project and garden extends, people from the local community will come and join in growing flowers and vegetables while enjoying the therapeutic effect of gardening.
Welcomes those who wish to develop their skills in conversational English.
Each week we focus on a particular topic. During the class we meet both as a whole group as well as in smaller groups to discuss the topic further.
The Edwardstown Baptist Church (EBC) Community Centre, has, in recent years, been growing as a local meeting place for people in the St Marys and surrounding areas.
Our programs provide an avenue for people to connect, talk and listen to others, make friends and be active. They assist in reducing social isolation, removing discrimination, and promoting acceptance for all. Furthermore they strive to enhance community participation.
