Today’s blog will be about yesterday’s (Thursday’s) events, first on our agenda is usually a devotion and prayer to start the day then onto the Review of the Friday before. Which we did although quite slow due to the fact that Eden and Alexa have a habit of randomly saying things to interrupt, this week it was about tickets to Michael Bublè’s second concert in Adelaide. Afterwards we had our coffee break which wasn’t really a coffee for me, I had a can of V instead courtesy of Daniel Battersby. After we get back we did a preview of the coming Friday’s youth event (which is a retro/disco/hippie night) which also didn’t go well because we were all distracted and didn’t know everything we were going to do. We later had lunch at an Indian restaurant and after we got back we all went shopping for a costume for Friday night, so we went shopping at Marion where we bought several hippie/retro-ish things which will look awesome later tonight.

In this time Eden, Dan and I read a chapter of PDYM (Purpose driven Youth Ministry) because we all forgot to read it beforehand, when we got back Elliot told us that we were supposed to read have read 3 chapters (o.0 ) but it was okay because we were missing two other people who usually come to the book study so we didn’t end up doing it.

When all of the intern had assembled we all headed down to Glenelg to plan the iYouth out night, we spent a lot of our time just figuring out what activities to do where and when to do them. Part of our regular Fridays involve doing a Special Project which we have each been assigned different tasks. My project is to work on the Xscape and Intern computers, which hopefully won’t be too difficult seeing as I don’t have a car.

Peace out ^.^

Throughout the rest of the year I will be going through some things that I find are important or exciting in the life of an iYouth intern for you guys to know about.

If you didn’t know already I am currently helping out Dan Nowak with one of his school outreach programs at the ASMS where we cook pancakes every Friday morning for them to eat. We are constantly thinking of new and better pancake mixture recipes and topping ideas, today’s pancakes were of the Shake’n’Bake variety which we don’t normally have and the pancake toppings were the traditional maple flavoured syrup and something a little new invented by Daniel Del Pilar; Cream Sensation (name thought up by Eden and Alexa) is made of cream cheese/philly cheese, sour cream and sugar. The thought of it seems a bit off but it tasted pretty good and the votes for it were almost all good (the very last person said it was bad), these sort of responses help us know how well the outreach is working.

I am also helping out with leading at Xscape and iYouth but because of the internship I am at the church for pretty much all of Friday so I help set-up Xscape and iYouth as well as leading a small group along with Battersby. When we’re stuck in the intern office in the morning we go through the previous weeks programs and discuss the good, the bad and the stuff we need to change. After this we go through the coming weeks Friday and what we need to plan or do, as well as the small group questions.

Peace out ^.^

I’ll make sure to keep these blogs as interesting as I can and I promise I will get better.
